LEAVING A LOVED ONE BEHIND?
im joining the NAVY after the first of the year and leaving my Girlfriend of two years behind. we’ve been friends since middle school, and didn’t pursue a Personal and romantic relationship until just a few years ago. she is going to University of Utah for college and i will be active duty for 4 years… we are deeply in love, we communicate well and are revered by are closest friends and family as a “super couple” but i am so worried. we have been open about my future and she is so crushed, she feels that she will have to get to know me all over again when i get back, i want to know if this is girl code for having to re-fall in love with me? she is so important to me and i don’t want to loose her for anything. i need to know ladies what i can be doing to comfort her, she supports me but i can see it killing her inside.
my boyfriend is in the army for four years and we are practically on opposite sides of the country.
personally, its hard not being able to see or hear the voice of your boyfriend but letters help a lot.
as for the fear of changed feelings or that you will be different when you come home, that is normal. its the fear of the unknown.
this is honestly an amazing test on a relationship.
if you two make it through then there are true feelings there and if not then it wasnt meant to be.
